Aftercare
Look after your extensions and they will look after you. This is general guidance: always follow the advice of the stylist who fitted your hair.
Every day
- Brush gently two or three times a day with a soft loop or extension brush, starting at the ends and working up. Hold the hair at the root while you brush.
- Before bed, make sure your hair is completely dry and tie it in a loose plait or low ponytail. A silk pillowcase helps reduce tangling.
- Use a heat protectant before straightening, curling or blow-drying, and keep hot tools away from the bonds, rings or tapes.
Washing
- Use a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner. Wash with your head upright, in the shower, rather than tipping it forward over a sink.
- Keep conditioner, masks and oils to the mid-lengths and ends, away from the bonds, rings or tapes.
- Dry the roots first and fully. Never sleep on wet or damp hair.
Swimming, sun and sport
- Tie your hair up or plait it before swimming. Rinse with clean water straight after chlorine or salt water.
- Wear a hat or cover your hair in strong sun to protect the colour.
By method
| Method | Maintenance | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Keratin bonds | Check-up with your stylist every 6–8 weeks | Avoid oils and heat near the bonds; have them removed professionally |
| Nano rings | Move-up appointment every 6–8 weeks | Don't pull or twist at the rings; let your stylist reposition them |
| Tape-ins | Re-tape every 6–8 weeks | Avoid oil-based products near the tapes; don't peel tapes off yourself |
| Clip-ins | None needed | Remove before sleeping or swimming; wash every 15–20 wears; store flat in the box |
Colouring and cutting
Our extensions can be cut and styled by your stylist. If you want to change the colour, ask a professional colourist and always do a strand test first. Colour and chemical treatments are at your own risk.
